Weta upwind San Francisco

This is a 15 minute of me sailing a Weta up the San Francisco city front in 18 to 20 kts of breeze. Most of this video is in ebb chop but close to the end I transition into flood (flat water) and the ride really smoothes out. I sailed up from Pt Richmond to the Golden Gate Bridge this sunny afternoon and ran my GoPro camera mounted on a boom off the rear of the boat. I often go on long crusies ...

Amazing boat 😍 I must try it out!!! Fair winds 🍀
Looks like you guys know what you are doing :) very good footage. I am intrigued by the Weta just wondering if it will be a good replacement for when I get too old and tired for my RS700?
No lifelines, wow
This is one of the 3 Weta tacking methods
Great SF venue for your video, what better place to show exhilarating sailing.Need to get out for a demo sail when the weather warms up.
I would not wear a safety harness, bloody insane to attach yourself to a boat...unless its a trapeze..even then you got to be careful. Nice looking boat though, Skiff performance with loads of stability
man rig tention required! its pulling the outter hulls up
best weta video ever
The Weta is really the only small Tri I would consider owning, looking at the other types like the windrider range and while they are cheap; I really dont think they perform anywhere near the same as the Weta. Put it this way, if ever got to a stage where I could no longer sail my RS700 Skiff, I would go Weta for sure.....pricey boat for sure, but when you look at the cost of, say, the RS700...it looks to be comparable in performance.
Nice video - can you share how you attached the go-pro to your weta?
can the bigger boats flip
What kind of boat is that at the end....
@blowme94 Digs in ????? a skiff would wipe out in those conditions...
Great clips...fantastic sailing!!
fanbloodytastic ....love it
Love this video Dave . And it shows how well the Weta handle some really tough conditions. Awesome.
Wow, you guys were flying! That's a good camera angle too!
Every year awesome footage from the double dammed! great to see a 'small' boat.
awesome job ethan :)
Well done ...A Weta foiler would be worth while ... Take on those moths !!!
a skiff would go faster on those waves, this just digs in
sits pretty low - is it supposed to be like that? More lift from the hydrofoil would have been a bit quicker?
Awesome Davo - FAST... Fun... Easy.. (I doubt) - nearly washed the GoPro off :)
Oop nm, you post the top speed at the end. Awesome work.
Like breathing from a firehose. Looks awesome. Congrats guys! Did you have a GPS for top speed over ground?
Very nice work on the video Dave.
How does he manage to not get tangled in the safety harness? Is he even wearing one?
I fear I'm falling in love with this one..they sell them in Holland, I better try one out..
Looks like a really fun tri !!! Good job, any plans for a slightly bigger one? Say a 16 footer?
I wish our Austailian dealer had as much dedication as you guys!! Nice work, makes me want to go sailing..
nice video work and editing!
Finally--a multihull you can actually tack
What a blast. I hope to be there next year.
